We often focus on action: on doing the right thing and not doing the wrong thing. But ultimately our actions are driven by our thought processes. It isn’t enough though, just to stop the bad thinking; we have to replace it with good thinking, or else the bad thinking will return and take even firmer root. In Philippians 4, Paul addresses various attitudes—not just to get rid of bad attitudes, but to focus our minds on the proper attitudes that lead to success in our service to God.
